Bantwal : Three thieves have been arrested at Melkar near BC Road on June 11, Tuesday by the Bantwal police. All the three were involved in several thefts in BC Road and around. Police have seized valuables worth nearly Rs 60,000 including mobile sets from them.

Those arrested have been identified as Santhu alias Santosh (24) of Mugralgude in Bantwal, Umar Farooq alias Farooq (23) of Sajipamuda, Mohammad Shakir (24) of Adyarpadavu and
The three were wanted in connection with the theft of  goods worth Rs 40,000 from a steel shop at Panemangalore and  also two other shops at Melkar and BC Road.

It is learnt, all the three had earlier been once arrested on charges of stealing areca. They were later released on bail,but began committing thefts again.

Police who interrogated them also came to know that they used to steal LPG cylinders and then sell them.
