Bantwal : The Bantwal police seized nine trucks illegally transporting sand near Melkar on Sep 24, Wednesday night.

After receiving the information, the team of officials led by Bantwal ASP, seized the trucks being transporting sand illegally from Mangalore to Bangalore.

The police received the information of 30 trucks transporting sand illegally, but they could seize only nine trucks. While other trucks might have diverted to other routes to avoid the seizure they suspected.

Further investigations are on.
