Bantwal : A youth identified as Kaushik Shetty (23) lost his life when his motorbike was hit by a speeding lorry on NH at Ramalkatte on July 26, Friday.

The deceased Kaushik was the son of Devadas Shetty, a councilor of Bantwal TMC and was also running the Sriram Nandini milk parlour in the town.

The accident  occurred when Kaushik along with his friend Sanjith Bhandari was on way to Mangalore. He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. A seriously injured Sanjith is battling for life at a hospital in Mangalore.

Kaushik’s father Devadas is also a BJP leader.

Bantwal police have registered a case.
