Mangalore : The Bantwal Rural SI Mahesh Prasad appeared before the Court in the Second Additional and Sessions Court on July 31, Wednesday and in an interesting turn of events was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. He however secured bail the same evening, after higher officials intervened.
The SI Had to appear before court in connection with an atrocity case filed by a woman in December 2011. However despite several notices, he had failed to appear before court and finally a show cause notice too proved no use. Ultimately a warrant was issued.
However, when the SI failed to furnish any documents, the court remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days. But,he was released on bail the same evening.
