Mangaluru : The Mangaluru Bar Association will provide legal support for activists fighting against the Yettinahole project.
Talking to presspersons here on Thursday, president of the Association S.P. Chengappa said they were helping people who oppose the project that would affect the Netravati river.
“We extend our moral support to the agitation. We are against the execution of the project that will drastically impact the ecology and water availability,” he said.
Mr. Chengappa said the association was ready to provide services of a group of advocates to activists taking a legal course questioning the execution of the project. He said the association was yet to decide ways in which they could involve in the protest.
The association members would go as a delegation to meet Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to convince him to drop the project.
They would also move around to meet people and generate awareness about the impact of the project for the region.
