Mangalore : The freedom fighters were felicitated were felicitated on the occasion of 100th birth anniversary of Barrister Attavar Yellappa, a freedom fighter at the event held at Town Hall on May 5 Saturday.

RSS leader Dr. Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka inaugurated the event. He said that freedom fighter sacrificed a lot for the country’s freedom, without having a desire for fame.

He also said most of the people live for their families, but the freedom fighters, irrespective of caste, religion, race, or creed just think for the welfare of the country.

The committee also felicitated Dr. Ammembal Balappa, Damodar Uchila, Karunakar Uchila, Hemanth Ullal, Sheshappa Ullal, Krishna Shetty Someshwar, and Aithappa Shettigar on this occasion.

MLA U. T. Khader, Prof. M. B. Puranik, Fr. Xavier Gomes, the principal of Milagres College, M. Vishwanath, the member of the Wenlock Hospial advisory committee; Vaman S. S, Ivan D’Souza, Bhaskar Devasya, Dr. Sujay Prabhakar of Nethaji Yellappa Hospital, and Sonda Bhaskar Shetty, the HOD of Sanskrit at Kateel College, were also present.
