Mangalore : The Basava Jayanthi, Birthday of Shree Basaveshwara, 12th century social reformer founder of Veerashaiva sect (Lingayath) has been celebrated at Town Hall on 13 May 2013 by DK Administration, Kannada and Cultural Association and Coastal Veerashaiva Developmental origination.

Dr. K.N Vijayaprakash Administrator DK Panchayath inaugurated the function. Addressing the gathering he preside Basaveshwara  for his all time relevant social message in the form of Vachanas. He urged the people to adopt the message in everyday life.
