Haveri: Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Basavaraj Bommai expressed deep sorrow over the tragic road accident near Arbail in Yellapur, Uttara Kannada district, which claimed the lives of ten people from Savanur taluk in Haveri district.

In a statement on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), he said the deceased were from economically disadvantaged families, engaging in small-scale trade for their livelihood. Several others injured in the accident are currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Bommai urged the government to provide adequate compensation to the families of the deceased and bear the medical expenses of the injured. He also called for a thorough investigation into the incident.

“I pray for eternal peace for the departed souls. May God grant the strength to their families to bear this irreparable loss,” he said.
