Mangalore : The Basel Mission (BEM) Institution celebrated 175th anniversary on January 24, Friday at Carstreet, Mangalore.

Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala unveiled the blue print of the 3D future building project on the occasion.

Dr Heggade said his father Late Ratnavarma Heggade was studied in this school. The Basel Mission is contributing education to the poor people over the century, many students got great positions in the society he added.

Retired teaching and non-teaching staffs who served for the institution were felicitated on the occasion.

Walter J Maben delivered the keynote address.

 Congress leader Suresh Ballal, Raghavendra Rao, Jayanthi Purushottam, Principal of BEM Composite PU College and others were present.
