Mangaluru : MLA B A Mohiuddin Bava’s move to distribute notebooks with his picture to the students in his constituency, because Only a person, who believes that he is an unknown entity in his constituency will do it. I too had distributed books, but without printing my picture. Perhaps, Bava feels nobody knows him in his constituency, lest such things would not have been done, said Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary.
Speaking the press conference at Press Club on Tuesday, Poojary said that, Bava had defended his move saying he had not misused his powers to gain political mileage by distributing books with his picture to students free. Bava had claimed that he had distributed 3.08 lakh books to students from class 1 to PU in his constituency by spending Rs 52.36 lakh from his pocket, he said.
Pojjary urged chief minister Siddaramaiah to waive off farm loans and announce minimum support price (MSP) immediately .
CM and Prime Minister Narendra Modi should feel ashamed that farmers have resorted to such protests, adding they should either help the farmers or resign, he said.
In a vituperative outburst against Siddaramaiah, Poojary said Congress will not return to power if such inhuman attitude is shown towards farmers who are in genuine distress. Asserting that he would continue his outbursts till the loans are waived off, Poojary dared party to take action against him. “Let the party expel me. I will continue with my statements if farmers are not helped or injustice is done,” he challenged.
Pointing out at states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra which have assured farmers that loans would be waived off, he said Karnataka CM should also do the same. `”He should not shift the goal posts putting onus on the Centre to take the first step.
