Bangalore: The Gandhinagar(central area) ward in Bangalore has gone the way of Congress, in a by-poll related to BBMP. Congress Candidate secured 6,721 votes as against BJP nominee Rama-Chandra who managed 5,456 votes only. The ward has 24,851 voters, but only 47% actually voted.

The earlier corporator was also from Congress, and he was brutally killed in broad daylight some months ago. A sympathy wave and Dinesh Gundurao’s hard work, brought about the Congress success again.

Gopal attributed his win to Dinesh G., an MLA. For BJP, after Bellary rural by-poll, this amounts to a second set-back. Now, all eyes are on Udupi-Chikkamagalur Lok Sabha seat by-poll.
