New Delhi: Now, you will not have to wait to deboard the flight to complete your pending tasks on net.
Air India is all set to provide Wi-Fi networks on its wide and narrow body planes.
It means that now the passengers of Air India will now be able to surf net whether they are traveling in domestic and international flights but only after paying some amount.
The chairman of Air India has set up a panel and asked it to explore the technical aspects and to make sure that the Wi-Fi connections are prevalent on board.
The responsibility for this project has been given to world’s leading in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) company, Thales of France, which will make a presentation to AI management for the same.
This is seen as an attempt by Air India step to survive in its battle against its competing companies, as Tata-Singapore Airlines and Jet-Etihad tie-up are proving a serious threat in international market.
Not only on the international scale, even in India, AI is getting good competition from Indigo and Jet group. AI is now looking at the Airbus A-320 neos which IndiGo and GoAir have ordered.
Among other steps being taken by the airline to upgrade its services and to survive in the race, it has ordered brand new planes with an average age of 3.5 for an aircraft in India and phased out the old ones. .
The new fleet will probably be having the latest technology like Wi-Fi, as revealed by an AI official.
