Mangalore : The DK district administration will organize a 3-day cultural and traditional extravaganza “Beach Utsav,” as part of the 45-day Karavali Utsav, from Jan 21, Friday.
Speaking at the press meet held at DC Office, Assistant Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalkatti said that the district administration has taken all the required steps to ensure law and order during the Utsav. Entry will be restricted with the help of metal detectors and vehicular movement will be restricted to ensure 100 percent security, he said, adding that buses plying toward Mulky will be diverted from Jan 21 to Jan 23, which is the last day of the Utsav.
He also said that, CCTV cameras will also be installed to maintain law and order and monitor over 1 lakh people expected to participate at Utsav. A minimum of 25 additional stalls will be set up besides the 10 existing stalls on the grounds of the Utsav, he said.
The valedictory ceremony of the Beach Utsav will commence at 6:00 p.m. and the finals of the dance competition and live music shows by Rajesh Krishnan, Ganesh Narayan, and Chaitra will be held after sunset.
Yathish Baikampady, the CEO of Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project, and Suresh Kumar, the deputy director of the Fisheries Department, were also present.
