Mangalore: KP Surveeran’s award winning movie “Beary and Girish Kasaravalli’s “Kurmavatara” are the two films from Karnataka which have earned a place in the list of 20 films that will be screened at the Indian Panorama of the 43rd International Film Festival (IFF) 2012, scheduled to be held in Goa from November 20 to 30.
Kurmavatara, a movie based on a Kannada novel of the same name by Kum Veerabhadrappa, had bagged the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Kannada in 2011.
Byari had bagged the 59th National Award for Best Film along with Umesh Kulkarni’s Marathi film Deool this year. Its story revolves around the condition of women in the Bari Muslim community and had won much appreciation.
