Mangaluru: BEL handed over eleven ventilators worth Rs 1 crore to district Wenlock Hospital, on Friday. The programme was held at RAPAAC building of the hospital.
Dr M L Shanmukh, Director of BEL handed over the instruments to Dr Rajeshwari Devi, Superintendent of the Hospital and the programme was inaugurated by veteran surgeon Dr Shantharam.
Speaking on the occasion Dr M L Shanmukh said that the hospital is on par in terms of cleanliness, when compared to private hospitals. It serves free of cost for the people of seven districts including Kasargod and Kerala state people. This fact has driven BEL to help the hospital as a help for its noble deeds.
Addressing the gathering Dr Shantharam Shetty said “In my service of 35-40 years I have enjoyed serving for poor people. Wenlock is not well known for its infrastructure or technology, but it is very much famous for the dedicated work of doctors and other staff,” he said.
Former deputy speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Yogish Bhat, Directors of BEL, Natraj Krishnappa, Veeresh D and others were present.
