Belthangady: A shocking news that Krishnappa Gowda, the non-commissioned officer serving the Indian Army who was found dead in Indo-Pak borders, was actually not killed by Pak soldiers, but was murdered.
A case registered in Firozpur Cant police station of Punjab said Krishnappa was murdered while on duty. Earlier, it was believed that he had died due to unprovoked attack from the Pak side.
SP Abhishek Goel has informed that the FIR copy has been received and that the Army has been requested to send more details regarding the case. Goel further said information about the killers will be known only after intimation arrives from the Army. Even the Army police as well as Firozpur Cant police will investigate, he added.
The brother of Krishnappa Gowda has been handed over a copy of the FIR which states that Gowda died due to stab injuries inflicted through the ear. He is said to have died due to attack from close range.
A leave had been sanctioned for Gowda from August 18. He was also provided residential quarters of the army and had reported to duty a month ago after his marriage two months ago.
