Mangalore: Ben Rodrigues (74), a machine innovator who created a machine RBF offo Tech (or REOTECH) passed away here today. He was featured is a local periodical as a achiever, in 2009. He leaves a circle of friends.
It is a fuel conservation device and manages air pollution. The REOTECH has the capacity to save 1 billion (a hundred crores) tons of fuel in a day, during on 8-hour journey operation of an automobile.
The device can cut down one million (ten lakhs) tons of exhaust emission for 8 hours in a day. It is not only highly economical but can cut down global warning effect, upto 90%.
Ben’s education was in Padua High School in city. He was an apprentice in Canara 1953-54 at 16. He worked in BEST of Mumbai as a technician then joined Indian Army in 1960 a trainee.
After 1962 Chinese aggression be joined TELCO in Jamshedpur. In 1969 he had his own tractor service firm in Shimoga. He returned to Mangalore in 1972 to start his fuel injection service system.
He shifted to Padil, from Baikampady (1996) due to losses in business , in 2006 with only tools and equipments on hand.
It is in Padil he worked on his last project and innovated REO TECH for controlling pollution in the air. He will be remembered for this genuine scientific device as an innovator.
