Bengaluru: Jammu was rocked by a terror attack on Tuesday when armed terrorists, dressed in fatigues, attacked an army unit in Nagrota in which 7 army personnel, including two Major-rank officers, were killed.

Major Akshay Girish Kumar hailing from Bengaluru is one among the seven martyred during the encounter.

An alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru University and son of former IAF pilot Girish Kumar, Akshay had entered into wedlock with his friend Sangeeta Ravindran around four years ago. The couple have a three-year-old daughter. His wife and daughter were at Nagrota on Tuesday when the attack took place.

His parents were living in an apartment near Sadahalli on Bengaluru Airport road.
