Mangalore: Syndicate Bank employee and ace swimmer Bengre Anand Amin has made Mangalore proud by winning two gold and two silver at the 13th Mihir Anil Potdar Invitational Age Group Day and Night Swimming Championship held at RCSA Swimming Pool, Goaves, Belgaum recently (Feb 8&9).
He represented Syndicate Bank Recreation Club in the championship hosted by Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum.
Amin continued his 36 years gold haul in the swimming pool won gold medals in 50 meter free style and 50 meter breaststroke. He also won two silver medals in 50 meters butterfly and 5o meter backstroke adding to the pool of more than 400 medals earned in his lifetime in the swimming section alone.
He is also celebrated wrestler had bagged almost all the prestigious state level titles which were held at Belgaum, Mysore besides Mangalore. Recently he won kusti (wrestling) title along with cash award in the recently concluded 3rd edition Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Kreedotsava, Shasthavu Sri Bhoothanatheshawara Temple, Badaga Yedapadavu, Mijar, Mangalore.
Employee of Syndicate Bank, Anand Amin is now serving in Mangalore branch of the bank and member of Mangalore Aquatic Club.
