Kasargod : Bhandari Swagath Ranveerchand a 2010 batch IAS officer has taken charge as the new District Collector of Kasargod District. She will replace Dr D Sajith Babu, the incumbent DC who has been posted as Director of the Civil Supplies Department.

Bhandari Swagath is the 24th DC of Kasargod and incidentally is the first woman District Collector to serve the district. She had secured 69th rank in the civil service exam and has earlier served as the Director of the Department of Industries.

Bhandari has become the first woman DC of the district. She has earlier served as the director of industrial department.
