Udupi: One of the prime accused of business man Bhaskar Shetty’s murder case Niranjan Bhat has been arrested by the police on Monday. He was taken to Nandalike in Belman, Karkala for the inquest under tight security.

He was made to sit inside the jeep by masking his face, as hundreds of local people gathered at the place. Police took Bhat to Kalkar river, where it was said to be he had thrown the ashes of deceased person and other materials used for the crime scene. However, police didn’t found anything else than sand sacks.

The police have reportedly found that Niranjan has used Petrol, ghee and camphor to turn Bhaskar’s body into ash. It is said that his body was burnt for long five hours. The one helped him to fill the ash sacks were also arrested.

Sources have said that Niranjan’s father might be booked for destruction of evidence.

Niranjan and his helpers will be produced before the court on Tuesday.
