Udupi: A verbal fight ensued between Bhaskar Shetty’s mother and sister-in-law over the ownership of Hotel Durga International in the city on Sunday. The police managed to intervene and settle the matter.

It is said that Bhaskar Shetty had handed over the power of attorney of the hotel to his wife Rajeshwari Shetty. However, after death, the power of attorney is said to be no more valid. Once Rajeshwari was named the prime accused in her husband’s murder, the court handed over the hotel’s administration to Bhaskar Shetty’s mother Gulabi.

However, sources say that on Sunday, Rajeshwari’s sister, Renuka took charge of the cash counter at the hotel and it resulted in a verbal fight between Gulabi and Renuka.

The police were informed and they rushed to the spot. Both the women were taken to the police station and were let off after reportedly furnishing certain bonds.
