Udupi: Udupi businessman Bhaskar Shetty’s murder case has taken a new twist. The CID team investigating the case has found out that Niranjan Bhat had asked a person from Nandalike to confess that he had committed the murder with the promise of cash, flat and a car.
There were several lapses in the police inquiry. Once the CID took up the case, they have investigated the case systematically and have collected lot of information.
Bhat reportedly had struck a deal with Satish Poojary from Nandalike; the CID police questioned Poojary who resides in Mumbai. His statement was recorded in front of a judge.
The CID is yet to receive the High Court order about not taking Rajeshwari Shetty into custody; it is said that they might appeal for the same in a higher court after verification of the order.
A copy of the stay order is yet to reach the Udupi court which might delay filing of the chargesheet. The CID began investigations about a month-and-a-half ago; the chargesheet has to be filed within a month-and-a-half.
