Mangalore : The much awaited Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Kreedotsava-III has evoked very good response from the village sports enthusiasts of coastal Karnataka after the registrations opened on 1st December. “Already we have received more than 1500 entries and we expect to reach a record number of participants this year, said Vijaynath Shetty, the chief organizer of the Kreedotsava, “Hence, for everybody’s convenience we have extended the last date for registration to Sunday 13th January. I appeal to all sports enthusiasts to register in this Kreedotsava and make it a success.”
Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Kreedotsava-III will be held on 18th, 19th and 20th January 2013 in the fields adjacent to Shasthavu Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Temple, Badaga Yedapadav, Mijar, Mangalore. After the unprecedented success of the Kreedotsava over the last two years, the organizers have included many innovative new games like Brick Walk, Mud Wrestling, Pyramid and Ball Game to reach out to more number of village people. This year there will be competitions in 40 games spanning 70 categories with prize money aggregating to over Rs. 15 lakhs along with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. ‘Best Village’ trophy with prize money of Rs. 1 Lakh and Rs. 50,000 will be given to foster village level unity in participation. As every year many popular film stars and celebrities are expected to attend the event and confirmed list of celebrities will be announced soon.
Former Chief Minister Sri D.V. Sadananda Gowda along with DKCCI President Sri B. Ramanath Rai and Former State Minister Sri Nagaraj Shetty will inaugurate the Kreedotsava on Friday 18th January at 9:00 a.m.
A special attraction is ‘Manassuda Ullasogu Bodad Enchinala Malpuva’, which is a talent show, where any individual or group having a special talent in any field may perform before the judges panel. This contest, which similar to Sony TV’s ‘Entertainment Ke liye Kuch Bhi Karega’, will be staged on Friday 18th January evening at 6:00 p.m. onwards and the prize money is Rs. 25,000/-
Dance Programme by Boyzone Dance Troupe and Comedy and Mimicry by Bank Janardhan and Team will be staged on Saturday 19th January evening 7:30 p.m. onwards. Famous playback singer Rajesh Krishnan will give a live concert on Sunday 20th January 7:00 p.m. onwards.
