Mangalore (MIA) a Jet Airways plane with around 150 passengers on way to Mangalore from Bangalore, was attacked by a swarm of Big Bees and the passangers had to run around within the plane for about an hour or more disconcerted as they were because of swarm of large bees attacking them from their nests built on the wings of the plane itself.
This amounts to negligence of duty of jet air employees concerned with safety of the aeroplane and cleaning the premises before the plane is airborne or before it was airworthy. The helpless passengers inside the plane could not gate down un till the fire brigade man were called to remove the bee-hives from the plane by targeting their hose pipes at the swarm of bees, preventing passengers to alight from the plane.
The result was several planes due at MIA had to wait here for a take-off or to come down the runway as per their schedules.
It was a curious experience for those passengers bitten by the big bees when they had paid for the airfare from Bangalore to Mangalore on a voyage.
It is hoped that the Jet Airways management will not take to bee-keeping as a flight industry when their planes are regularly fly from place to place.
