Udupi : A young bike rider hailing from Sasthan lost his life while  the pillion rider sustained critical injuries in a head on collision between their bike and a  Mahendra Pick-up vehicle in Brahmavar on May 9, Thursady.

The deceased person  is Jason D’Mello, an AC mechanic by profession. The seriously injured  pillion rider Vijay of Handady has been admitted to Manipal Hospital.

It is learnt, both the vehicles were overspeeding. The bike riders were on way to Sasthan from Brhmavar when the mishap took place. The Mahendra pick-up  vehicle  was heading towards Mangalore from Kundapur.

Kota police have registered a case.
