Kundapur :  A bike rider lost his life in a hit and run case reported from Paankadakatte near Basrur on the morning of January 3, Thursday. The deceased is  Bhaskar Acharya (33), a resident of Hosangandi. He was a  carpenter by profession.

Acharya was on ay to Basrur from Kandlur to purchase some building materials when the mishap took place. Acharya who is married  has left behind his parents, wife and two children.

It is learnt, he was constructing a new house in a land purchased by him recently. Kundapur police are on the look out for the vehicle that  knocked Bhasker down.
