Belthangady : Two persons on a motorcycle were fatally knocked down by a tipper near Ujire in Belthangady taluk on Sunday, March 22.

The deceased have been identified as Sundar (32), a resident near Hedya of Kadirudyavar, and Harish (33), son of Babu of Kuttalike near Ballamanje of Machina.

It is said, they were travelling from Somantadka towards Ujire. Harish and Sundar were thrown on to the road due to the impact of the collision. Just at that moment, another lorry that plying at a high speed from Charmadi towards Ujire moved over the two persons.

They breathed their last on the way to hospital.

A case has been registered at Belthangady police station.
