Mangaluru : Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates have decided to distribute scholarships and medical help worth Rs 15.69 lakh at Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, Kudroli on Sunday.

Speaking to the Press personnel at Mangaluru Press Club on Saturday, former president of Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates Jitendra Suvarna said that the association has spent more than Rs 1.2 crore for the scholarships and other helpful works,since 2001. This year 210 students will be provided scholarships.

“22 achievers will be felicitated and 22 will be provided medical help during the occasion. Scholorship applications were verified by members of Sri Guru Charitable Trust. They verified it by visiting each applicant’s house,” he said.

“President of Billawa Maha Mandal Jaya C Suvarna, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, MLC Kota Srinivasa Poojary and others will grace the occasion,” he said.

Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates office bearers Sudhakar Poojary and Vasanth Thumbay and others were present.
