Bangalore: The ICC CEO Haroon Lorgat today condemned the harsh lathicharge conducted by city police on cricket fans disappointed with sale of tickets (5000 in all out of 40,000). He told the media that the governing body on cricket would not like to see repetition of such unruly scenes again. The KSCA headed by Anil Kumble and Javagal Shrinath need to look into this matter quickly as more matches are going to be played at the same venue, Chinnaswamy Stadium near Cubbon Park, apart from the Sunday opener ODI between India and England.
Lorgat made it clear that ICC did not such scenes of baton-wielding policemen attacking cricket lovers. With most of the tickets reserved for sponsors and their friends, overseas visitors, local fans could get a few, one of ten, perhaps. The online ticket selling also was not smooth either.
Lorgat regretted the low quality put up for sale in tickets for common people. BCCI did not take up the responsibility of public sales in Bangalore.
