Padubidri : Padubidri Police have arrested three persons on the charges of creating panic among public by cutting a cake with lethal weapons on the occasion of a birthday and then posting it in social media.

Those arrested are Jithendra Shetty (52), Ganesh Poojary (50) of Padubidri and Sharath Shetty alias Putta (26) of Phalimar. Four other accused namely Sooraj Salian (25) of Palimar, Tanuj Karkera (25) of Padubidri, Anvish (23) and Niranjan Shettigar(31) are absconding.

It is learnt Jithendra Shetty who is an accused in a case registered in Padubidri station has been resorting to rowdy activities along with some of his accomplices.

The photographs and videos of the birthday celebration of Niranjan Shettigar, with lethal weapons placed beside a cake and him cutting the cake with a machete had gone viral on social media while also creating a panic.

Cops who searched Jithendra’s house seized the machete and other weapons and arrested him and two others.
