Mangalore : The foundation stone for the construction of 28 houses by the Mangalore Diocese as part of its social service initiatives to commemorate its post-centenary silver jubilee year, was laid by Mangalore Bishop Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza near Mariashram Church in Talapady on August 15, Wednesday. Each house will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3,60,000 on a plot of 4.15 cents of land donated by the diocese. The Diocese aims to construct a total of 161 houses as part of the project.
Fr Nelson Olivera, Parish Priest of Mariashram church, Fr William Menezes, Diocesan PRO, Fr Onil D’Souza, Director CODP, Naveen Cardoza of Mavian projects and others were present on the occasion.
Naveen Cardoza of Marian Projects Private Limited has come forward to construct the 28 houses at zero profit.
