Mangalore : The supporters and BJP activist in coastal Karnataka, celebrated as soon as D. V. Sadananda Gowda, the MP of Udupi – Chikmagalur, was selected as the next chief minister of Karnataka on August 3, Wednesday.
BJP activists in Mangalore celebrated the victory by distributing sweets and bursting crackers.
Most of the BJP leaders in coastal Karnataka had supported Mr. Gowda when the BJP party at the state-level had split into two factions after the resignation of B. S. Yeddyurappa.
District-in-charge minister Krishna J. Palemar, congratulated Sadananda Gowda, who happens to the state’s 26th chief minister.
MLA Yogish Bhat said that the election of Sadananda Gowda as the chief minister ended up all internal problems since Jagadish Shettar and Sadananda Gowda told to work together for the development of the state.
