Mangalore: District JD(S) member MG Hegde said that BJP administration in the Mangalore City Corporation has several years experience and still made a big fault by submitting the nomination file.
He was speaking at the press meet at Hotel Woodlands Hall on March 8, Thursday. Commenting on Yogesh Bhat’s statement, he said that Deputy Speaker who knows the rule very well said that he had requested the election commissioner to re-examine the nomination file, which was not happened before.
He also said that Unit president Srikar Prabhu claimed that election commissioner has played a game in this issue. But actually in the game of these two parties, the people of Mangalore will suffer and JDS will not allow them to create any problem to locals and will form an organization and will stage protest unless they clarify about their stands.
Today the experienced BJP is responsible for such a fault and pushed administration in such a critical situation for one year.
The BJP party which is in majority must give the specification whether they accept the rule of new Congress Mayor or whether the Mayor will approve for the decision take by the BJP majority, he said.
He also said that the two groups present in the BJP are responsible for this problem. The groups who wanted their candidate to be the Mayor this year has not given information of the nomination and the caste certificate and did not even given the dummy candidate which was given till now.
Since this is a constitutional consequence, the congress must clarify their stand regarding CDP. He also informed that MCC election is nearing and hence the JDS workers must work hard to take a stand to centralize MCC.
Speaking on the independent corporators, he said that JDS is not ready to agree to the demands of Independent corporators at MCC.
JDS Corporator Azeez Kudroli said that the two groups in BJP have made the mistake in getting the administration. As soon as the Roopa Bangera’s nomination was rejected the black coat of Mayor went missing and Mayor was insulted by not handing over the coat. Hence action must be taken against the person who has taken the coat.
MCC Commissioner was also not present to welcome the new elected Mayor and this shows that he is also working according to the BJP’s agenda. The Deputy Mayor was insulted by not giving the charge too, he added.
Shashiraj Shetty, Ravindra Ullal, Venkatesh N Rao, Ramakrishna Shetty and others were present.
