Mangalore: Padmanabha Kottary, District BJP President has strongly condemned the hike in KSRTC bus fares in the state.
Speaking to press persons, the BJP leader said the increase in fares would prove a big blow to the common man who prefers to travel in KSRTC buses instead of private buses.
He said the BJP would resort to a protest if the government fails to roll back the fare hike.
On the Re1 per kg of rice scheme to be implemented by the state government for BPL card holders, Kottary urged that government to provide some facilities to APL card holders too.
BJP leaders Nitin Kumar, Pushpalata Gatti, Rajgopal Rai and Bantwal APMC President Nemiraj Rai were also present.
