Mangalore : Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhan Poojari has said that the Congress was a party which would always adhere to its secular stance and principles of national integration and harmony.
Speaking at a public meeting at Mulki bus stand on the second day of the Congress Padayatra, he said the Congress values the ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation and it was his non-violence means of struggle that is an inspiration for the padayatra.
KPCC President G Parameshwar who also spoke, lambasted the state government and said the state government has looted the treasury and the administration has come to a standstill. He urged the people to vote the Congress to power for a good administration.
Parameshwar also stated that the BJP government has no moral right to continue in power. The Congress, he said, intends to create an awareness on the misrule of the BJP government, through its padayatra. Several Congress leaders including Ramanatha Rai, Ibrahim, Mamatha Gatti, Gulzar Banu, Abhayachandra Jain, Ivan D’Souza, Moidin Bava, UT Khader attended the meeting.
