Mangalore  : The BJP which won the  previous election in the name of God and Religion, has only indulged in widespread corruption and irregularities and failed to live upto the expectations of the people, said District Mahila Congress President Mamatha Gatti.

Speaking to reporters, she said  the BJP leaders should conduct a self-introspection if they have kept their words given to the electorate.

She further raid only the Congress  is capable of initiating effective welfare schemes for the power. Criticizing BJP for the rise in violence against women during its tenure, Gatti promised that the Congress would leave stone unturned din protecting the interests of  women and preventing crime against women.

She was also highly critical of the BJP government for failing to implement the schemes envisaged in its election manifesto.

Several Congress leaders including Kripa Alva, Hemavathi, Shobha, Dharmavathi were present.
