Mangaluru : BJP has no concern for the plight of the common man who is ravaged by vagaries of nature, said former minister B Ramanath Rai on Sunday and added that the PM did not even bother to undertake an aerial survey of of the affected areas and understand people’s plight.
“Modi who came to Bengaluru (for Chandrayaan 2 event) did not receive any petition from the state nor assured help to it for the worst floods Karnataka has suffered,” said Mr Rai and pointed out that Modi, instead had time to address political rally in Haryana where a by-poll is scheduled.
Mr Rai accused PM Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan of feeding on ‘anti-Pakistan’ and ‘anti-India’ sentiments for their narrow political gains. While Modi keeps raising the Pakistani bogey in India, Imran does the same in Pakistan for that helps both leaders win crucial elections, claimed Mr Rai.
The government not given any solution to the economic slowdown that India is presently gripped with and the same is the situation in Pakistan where Imran Khan rouses anti-India sentiments to hide his failures, said Mr Rai.
BJP has made god, religion and patriotism as the cornerstone of its political ideology and thrives on cashing in on these sentiments during polls, he noted.
Speaking on the sudden resignation by the former Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil, Mr Rai said that the reasons mentions by the IAS officer are alarming.
