Mangalore: The nomination of Gujarat CM Narendra Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate of the BJP was welcomed in a jubilant mood by the District BJP workers.
Leaders and party men who gathered in front of the District BJP office at PVS, distributed sweets, burst crackers and expressed their joy.
District BJP President Pratap Simha Nayak, MLC Monappa Bhandari and others spoke and exuded confidence that the party would win the LS polls and have Modi as the Prime Minister of the nation.
In Udupi : In Udupi too BJP workers celebrated the occasion by distributing sweets and bursting fire works on Friday. BJP workers were also seen shouting slogans praising Modi.
Uday Kumar Shetty, District BJP President said the UPA government at the Centre has failed to do justice to the common man and assured that the BJP if voted to power will live upto the expectations. He said Modi’s choice as PM candidate was unanimous.
Former MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Geethanjali Suvarna, Vilas Nayak, Salim Ambagilu, Somashekhar Bhat and other leaders were present.
In Kundapur : Several BJP workers of Kundapur also welcomed the announcement of Modi as the PM candidate.
