Bengaluru: “The shootout orders given to the police by the chief minister of the state H D Kumaraswamy is not correct. He should immediately seek an apology for his statement,” urged B S Yeddyurappa, leader of opposition in Legislative Assembly.
Yeddyurappa further ridiculed the CM and said, “The order given by Kumaraswamy for the shootout of people, who have killed a JD (S) activist in Toppanahalli of Mandya district, is not right. With this type of statement by the CM, the police will get an open hand to do anything. Later the chief minister said that he has given the statement in a rage and not as a chief minister. So is he not the CM now?”
“The murder of activists of JD (S), Congress or BJP is not bearable. There is no doubt that the murderers should be punished suitably. However, a chief minister of the state should not give such a statement. It will send wrong signals,” Yeddyurappa added.
Statement of Kumaraswamy pounded with criticism on Twitter
The BJP state leaders also condemned on Twitter the statement given by Kumaraswamy to shootout the killers of a JD (S) activist. They said that it is right to take legal action against the killers but giving an open statement to shootout is not in good taste.
Yeddyurappa ridiculed the CM on Twitter by making a post which said, “Death of farmers – No emotions. Murder of officials – No relation. Massive corruption is going on – No problem. No development – I do not print currency. Dalits are being pushed into bondage – Yes. If JD (S) activist is murdered – order to police to shootout the killers immediately. For Kumaraswamy JD (S) is the only important focus point.”
Central minister D V Sadananda Gowda tweeted “The murder of activists of political party is deadly for democracy. Such an incident has taken place in Maddur. This is condemnable. Honourable chief minister, the lives of the activists of our party and the tears of their family members are also precious. Kindly note.”
“It seems that the chief minister Kumaraswamy has given an order to break the law as well as to create a situation of anarchy by giving an open statement in front of the media cameras to carry out shootout. This is a clear example of instigation and to disrupt the system. In Karnataka, the administration in total chaos and dictatorship is prevailing. I severely condemn this development,” tweeted MP Shobha Karandlaje.
MLA C T Ravi questioned Kumaraswamy in his tweet which said, “Dear chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, You have asked the police to shoot the killers of the activist of your political party. During the previous Congress regime, around 25 activists of RSS and BJP were killed by the Jihadis. Can we expect the same kind of action against those Jihadis also?”
