Bangalore: The internal conflicts among BJP MLAs on the issue of an expanded cabinet as approved by BJP High Command in New – Delhi, are causing serious concern in party circles, and a conflagration may start, not on Babri mosque verdict, but on CM Yeddyurappa’s new cabinet, for which a final list is given to him in Delhi on Sept. 20 (Monday). Meanwhile 20 MLAs under Minister (excise) Renukacharya have banded together to send in their resignations to Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj and go home. Of them C.T. Ravi has just resigned on Tuesday, in unhappy conditions.
Apart from the Chikkamagaluru MLA (CT Ravi) there are many who are standing on their toes to resign, led by Sagar MLA Belur GopalaKrishna as on Tuesday (today). Ravi’s complaint is that he has done a lot of developmental works in the last 3 times membership of legislative assembly, and yet was ignored when Ministerships were finalized. As K.S. Eashwarappa could not assure Ravi of Minister’s post, the latter was forced to put in his (resignation) papers to the Governor. The others have used various crafts and skills to frighten the leaders into submission to offer them a Ministerial post each.
The one trump card with CM is that BJP High Command has given him the green signal ahead to reform state Cabinet. However, no one specifically has been omitted or taken in by High Command directive to CM. Renukacharya is returning from USA cutting short his stay there as on today. In New Delhi, CM pretended ignorance about internal rebellion in his ruling party. He promised not to leave any MLA out of BJP during the exercise of new cabinet formation.
