Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District BJP Mahila Morcha demanded immediate resignation of the Mayor inconnection with alleged attack by Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Mayor Kavita Sanil on a woman and her child at her residential apartment in the city recently.

Speaking to the media persons here on Saturday in Mangaluru, Pooja Pai, Mahila Morcha district president said, “Being MCC Mayor Kavita Sanil should not have assaulted woman and the act is condemnable and the act spoils the image of the district which known for safety of the women.

Mahila Morcha members also urged for legal action against the Mayor. Mahila Morcha also warned that it would start a district wide agitation urging punishment under Juvenile Justice Act if concerned authorities fail to take action against her.

Pooja Pai also alleged, the CCTV footages released by the mayor inconnection with the incident were morphed before their release. She urged the mayor to release all CCTV footages of the incident if she has guts to face the case.
