Mangaluru : The members of the BJP Mahila Morcha staged a protest rally and Jail Bharo at A B Shetty Circle shouting slogans against the Congress rule and its ministers here on Thursday, December 4.

The BJP woman protesters marched against the rising cases of crime against women and demanding the resignation of state Home Minister K J George. The rally started from Taluk Panchayat Office and ended at A B Shetty Circle.

Dakshina Kannada BJP Mahila Morcha President Mallika Prasad said that the government totally failed to protect women’s in their administration, more than 300 minor girls were molested and raped early this year, however only 23 culprits were punished.

As many as 1,639 girls and women were sexualy assulted in 2013. The murder case of Uppinangady Pushpalatha and the Tirthahalli Nanditha case still not finalized .The government not seriously thinking both this cases, Mallika Prasad said

Sulochana G.K. Bhat, District President of Mahila Morcha said, if the government not incapable of protecting the rights of the woman, they should step down. The Home Minister in particular, has failed in every aspect and hence he should immediately tender resignation,” she asserted.

The police are controls by the corrupt politicians due to which expecting protection and justice from them is unworthy, She alleged.

Puttur, Kodagu and other districts Mahila Morcha members also participated in the protest.
