Mangalore : Former MLA and senior Congress leader Vijaykumar Shetty has strongly criticized the BJP for making false claims in its manifesto.
Speaking to reporters in Mangalore, he said the constituency of Suratkal(Mangalore North) was lacking several amenities including a proper bus stand, road and drainage system.
He further said the BJP administration has also failed to ensure the completion of the construction of the Tumbay second vented dam. He said the cost of the dam has now shot up to Rs 75 crores as against the initial budget estimate of Rs 45 crores.
He said the Congress if elected to power would ensure good amenities continuous electricity and water supply. He said the party was also against the Netravathi river diversion project.
The Congress candidate from Mangalore North Moidin Bava who was also present, said if elected, he would strive t o live upto the expectations of people of the constituency.
