Udupi : BJP workers of Brahmavar staged a demonstration on April 4, Thursday at Brahmavar to prevail upon the party leadership  to grant a ticket to sitting Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat to contest the next elections.

Speaking on the occasion, party leader Vasanth Shetty  said the sleaze video only aimed at tarnishing Bhat’s image and added those who  had no courage to face Bhat in the elections, had resorted to this  tactic.

The protestors said they will not accept any other candidate but Bhat from Udupi.

Udupi Rural Yuva Morcha president Mohan Shetty  submitted a memorandum in this regard to Udaykumar Shetty, District  BJP President.

It may be recalled here that several supporters of Bhat had gathered outside the MLA’s residence requesting him to go back on his decision against contesting. Finally bowing to pressure Bhat had said that he would contest if the party decides to field him.
