Mangalore: MLA U T Khader said that all the schools are appointed with teachers to educate the students about the votes and register their names for the voters list.

He was speaking at the press meet held at District Congress Office on October 8, Monday. He said that today people do not have proper bhoot number given in their voters list so that their votes go in other bhoot.

He also said that there are lot of mistakes in the names and the address available in the voter’s identity card and ration card too. When people are asked about votes, it is understood that people are not provided with the voters ID.

He said that the work of jalli crushers is not taking place from a month, after the Supreme Court ordered to ban the work. Hence the Dakshina Kannada roads will not get the road repair with asphalt till December. The roads must be repaired in these four months, since the funds allotted for the infrastructure must be use soon or else will go back. In this situation how the granite stones can be brought, he asked.

Speaking about the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, he said that the newly constructed Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, a new legislature building of the State of Karnataka that has been built in Belgaum will be inaugurated on October 11, Thursday by President Pranab Mukherjee. But they are least bothered about the Cauvery River problem, jalli crusher, hike for LPG and many other problems caused due to the financial crisis.

The BJP government will hold the programme in Suvarna Vidhana Soudha for only one day, but could have conducted the convention to discuss the problems for 4 to 5 days, he said.

Commenting on the State Minorities Development Corporation, he said that the beneficiaries under many schemes have received the cheques one month back, but still it has not been distributed, he said. More than 200 cheques are been kept in minorities development office, but they are making the beneficiaries wait for long time, he added.
