Mangalore: In the D.K district and Taluka polls due to be held in the second phase on the last day of the year in Mangalore and other 4 talukas, BJP has set up 35 candidates for ZP membership, of whom 18 are women.
District-in-charge Minister J.  Krishna Palemar is quite confident of winning all the seats in ZP and most of the taluk seats in ZP and most of the taluka seats available in DK. People have shown keen interest in voting for BJP this time, he told Mega Media news in telephone chat on Tuesday here.
People are fed up with long Congress rule that did not bring enough development in DK and they look forward to a comfortable majority rule in the new decade (2011-20) on West Coast, he told our representative.
The women voters should be happy with BJP this time as 50% of the candidates are ladies and many of them from weaker and backward classes. The youth also should be glad to vote for BJP since at least half a dozen of the men are fairly young and eager to serve common people at large. No important community has been left out of reckoning so far as candidates in the field are concerned. They could give a good fight to the challengers (or rival candidates) on their own past service records.
BJP was nowhere some years earlier, but not anymore. The recent gup-shup (or cock and bull stories) about corruption had no effect on voters’ minds and the voters by and large are determined to swing the ZP/TP results the BJP way, by pressing proper buttons to vote.
