Mangalore : The District BJP staged protest symbolically by boiling the water using stones and wastes near DC Office, against the price hike for petrol, diesel and LPG cylinder, on June 28, Monday.
Speaking at the protest, Mayor Rajani Dugganna, said that the protest has been staged against the injustice made by the UPA government ton poor people by increasing the price of basic necessities.
She also said that, at the present situation, every houses have LPG Cylinder and none of them uses the ol d format of logs to cook the food. Hence increasing the huge amount suddenly will be difficult for the poor people to eat a day’s meal.
If the UPA government do not decrease the price of the commodities, all the will of the house are sure to come out to roads and stage protest, against it.
BJP District president Padmanabha Kottari, said that The UPA government has increased the price of diesel, petrol and cooking gas, which made the poor helpless. The central government declare themselves as the government for poor and put them into difficulty.
He also said that, the UPA government has increased around Rs 7 and half for petrol in one year. These kinds of price hike only effects poor.
The CM BS Yeddyurappa’s government is implementing lot of welfare schemes for poor and backward class people, but the UPA government is completely opposite to it, he added.
