Udupi: BJP OBC Morcha staged protest against the failure of the state government in front of DC office on Tuesday.
Addressing the protestors MLC Kota Shrinivas Poojary said that ‘Suicide Bhagya’ is the new scheme implemented by the government for labours working in construction sector and sand extraction.
“Labours are sitting at home from past six months and they are jobless at present and the government don’t have minimum concern towards them. It shows the negligence and failure of the district administration to handle the issue properly. Because of their failure a labour committed suicide at Kota police station limits and the district in-charge Miniter Pramod Madhwaraj is least bothered about it,” he said.
Further as a warning to the district administration he said “if the district administration doesn’t allows to extract the sand then BJP workers will do that work and we are ready to go to jail. Extracted sand will be provided to poor and needy.”
OBC Morcha State President B G Puttaswamy said that the government had assured many things in the budget and has failed to implement those. CM Siddaramaiah has failed to give a good governance in the state and he proudly announced Rs 1276 crore for backward class people, but utilised only Rs 125 crore.
A memorandum was submitted to CM Siddaramaiah through ADC Anuradha.
District BJP President Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde, former MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Lalaji R Mendon, Shilpa Suvarna and others were present.
