Mangaluru: BJP stirred against the Tippu Jayanthi celebrations organised by the state government and condemned the murders of RSS and Sangha Parivar activists which took place recently.
Addressing the protestors in front of DC office on Tuesday, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that though the entire Karnataka is opposing the Tippu Jayanthi the government led by Siddaramaiah is standing on toe to celebrate it. He is a terrorist and he should be called as Saddam Sulthan.
“Tippu has attacked the people who were other than Muslims. He destroyed the temples and churches in Madikeri and coastal region. Siddaramaiah has hurt the feelings of the people by celebrating Tippu Jayanti. Moreover, in Islam celebration of birth anniversaries are prohibited and thus Siddaramaiah has hurt the religious feelings of Muslims also,” he said.
He further said that Even though terrorists are entering the boarders of Karnataka and eight RSS workers were killed in past three years Siddaramaiah is still sleeping and he is not at all bothered about the happenings.
“Police have asked for Rs 10 lakh bond if the peace is disrupted in Tipuu Jayanti, in fact the cabinet ministers should pay Rs 1 crore bond as they are responsible for the entire untoward incident which may occur on that day. Who gave the power to police to ask for bond?” he questioned.
MLA Capt Ganesh Karnik said that BJP is not opposing the celebrations in the name of society leaders, but the government is celebrating the Jayanthi of a communalist, cruel and anti Hindu as well as anti Christian person.
“Three people have lost their lives in the name of Tippu Jayanthi. Siddaramaiah is answerable for all these murders. Tippu ordered the people either to accept the Quran or to give their head to the sword. Siddaramaiah is so adamant to listen the voice of people,” he added.
BJP leader Monappa Bhandary, district BJP President Sanjeev matandoor and leaders were present.
